Pros: Fast, reliable

Cons: more expensive than competitors

Comments: I went with iinet as my friends recommended it for its speed and reliability. I believe that there are cheaper deals out there though.

All in all I am very happy though. I am prepared to pay a little bit extra for a quality product.

Pros: It\'s not dialup....

Cons: Tech support is atrocious

Comments: Took them 12 months to advise me that ADSL was not ever going to be available to me due to a split line. 4 months to install cable after that. Frequently down speeds are no more than up to twice that of dial up. Tech support phone queues are consistently over 20mins wait time. Tech support staff are poorly trained and often give flat out WRONG advice.... one of them even asked me to reformat my harddrive to get better speeds...........................

Overall I'm very dissatisfied with Telstra and if there was another ISP that could bundle my business telephony needs, that was available in my area (underground cabling is not my friend) then I would change in a heartbeat!

Pros: Great service, fast connection, cheap.

Cons: Um... hard to find things to complain about.

Comments: aaNet is the best - their customer service is excellent, the forums are friendly and helpful and the connection is consistant and lightning fast. Haven't had a dropout in 5 months - and that dropout went for 10 minutes.

Pros: Unlimited downloads, access to PIPE

Cons: customer support should improve inregards to technical knowledge (but some are very helpful), dropouts

Comments: Overall I am very happy with my package- unlimited downloads at a very cheap price and PIPE is a big plus. Support is below average but most people who knows how to use a computer will probably won't need it.

Dropouts are common (well for me anyways)- but can be fixed with a quick reboot.

Unfortunately TPG doesn't offer it any more.

I would recommend TPG for those trying out broadband and those that don't plan to download a lot since there are no excess charges, which is a big plus. Unfortunately there are no more unlimited plans (except for $150 for a 1500/256K connection but thats for businesses).

Pros: Reliable, good prices, free modem, value

Cons: lack of churn, small webspace, tech support can be a long wait on the phone.

Pros: As long as you are a happy customer everything is ok

Cons: Bad support to litigate acount issues

Comments: After I have been with SWIFTDSL for more than 9 months I have closed the acount in November due to transfering to another ISP. Then SWIFT have charged me $100 for "early cancellation" even I was with them for more than the contract period of 6 months. Called them several times to get my money back and they said everytime that the issue will be resolved. However they never called me back and never reimboursed my money... On top of that I was charged *again* last week with $178.00 (I really have no idea for what), yes thats another charge! and I am not sure anymore what to do. I asked the bank to start dispute these charges, lets see what they do now. But I am very very upset about all this. Other people still with SWIFTDSL, beware about their practices, it seemes they are on to steal hard earned money from people...

You've been warned

Pros: Good Speed. Good Value for money.

Cons: Can't think of....

Comments: They dont charge any download from night 1:00 to morning 7:00. Moreover they even dont charge for all uploads in the total allotted. 1 GB is currently allotted in this plan and 1 GB exceeding each GB is only 3.5$. which is really gr8.

Pros: Great user community, free user to user traffic, fast service

Cons: None

Comments: My connection consistently is very fast to both Australian and international servers. Traffic between Swiftel users in the same state in free, and there is a great file-sharing community. Excess download charges are very reasonable.

There have been occasional hassles with authentication servers, but these have been Telstra issues and clear up quickly

Pros: Reliable, updated regularly

Cons: Prices could be more reasonable

Comments: Pretty happy with service. Out of the last year I've been with Swift I have only lost connection once for any length of time, and this wasn't their fault. It would be nice for some great new plans that are more reasonable. Especially in the 1500/256 category.

Pros: VoIP Option, No Speed Capping, PiPE Peering

Cons: Poor Reliability, Complacent Support

Comments: With free PiPE peering and free traffic between users in the same state, Swift is a good ISP for users who like to share files and commonly use file mirrors. The ability to add VoIP to your wireless connection for only $5.50 a month means that theoretically you no longer require a phone line, but there are still some teething issues. My experience with support has been poor, but this is mainly because of issues still being resolved with the Unwired network and because of these issues, reliability has been relatively poor. This should though improve with time.

Pros: Fast, quite reliable

Cons: Low download limit, 28k shaping, no free downloads

Comments: While OptusNet has excellent download speeds (up to 700KB/s), the low download limits on its plans and very slow capping mean that the more regular Internet user has to be careful how much they download. OptusNet hosts no free mirrors and has no free peering, so downloads can eat through your cap quite quick. OptusNet cable was quite reliable and I only suffered a few outages. Also, they have a strict no-server policy and are known to be fast to respond to any illegal p2p usage.

Comments: I rated the presale info down a little because of their current website and the amount of time that it has taken for them to get it fixed. I believe that the new site is due out very shortly. Otherwise, things are great.

Cons: There isn't anything to bitch about

Comments: I have been with a few previous ADSL ISP's and aaNet is fantastic value for money as well as having very courteous and friendy staff and in aaNet's forum http://http://forums.aanet.com.au/forums everyone is happy not a gloomy forum at all it's all about fun and helping each other out without pollitics and gloom like some other shops.
