About OZ Broadband Reviews

Oz Broadband Review helps Australians compare broadband companies and plans in an open, honest way, and has done for over 22 years.

Our story

OBBR was founded in June 2004 by an engineer called Dan to help people choose a broadband company. Dan had recently returned from overseas and was trying to find the best ADSL plan for his home internet. At the time there was no way to compare broadband companies and plans openly and honestly, so he locked himself in his room for a few weekends, brushed up his coding skills, and Oz Broadband Review was born.

We are a small, hardworking team based in sunny Newcastle, NSW. OBBR is 100% Australian owned and run, and is not affiliated with any broadband company. Over the past 22 years we have helped tens of thousands of people learn about broadband and find a great deal, and we aim to be the best online resource for broadband in Australia.

The OBBR promise

  • 100% independent. We treat every broadband company equally and give honest, unbiased information.
  • No paid listings. We earn a small referral fee from some companies, but we never bump them up or give them preference.
  • Verified reviews. We manually verify every review shown on the site. Suspicious reviews are removed.
  • No nonsense. No aggressive sales tactics and no pop ups.
  • Your privacy. We keep your information private and secure, and never share it without your permission.
  • Full transparency. We aim to be 100% transparent in everything we do.

Affiliate disclosure

When you click a plan or company link on this site and get referred to another website, we may receive a commission if you then sign up for one of their plans or services.

We show all available plans and services in our search results regardless of whether a company has a partnership with us. Our knowledge, not business connections, determines what we suggest in our articles, updates and reviews. Earning a commission never influences how we display options, most listings appear on their own merits.

Where we do show sponsored content it is clearly labelled as "featured" and kept separate from regular results. When an affiliate link sits next to a regular link, the affiliate one is marked with a Partner tag.
