I have had the displeasure of being a Dodo customer for almost two years now. Call me naive, but in September 2012 I signed the contract assuming that things wouldn't be that bad; after all â I was signing up as a business customer.

From day one it was terrible. I was charged $300 for the technician come and "fix" my lines. His fix was to plug in a phone and check the dial tone. Phone was working fine before visit. After months of arguing and dealing with hopeless call centre I gave up.

3 months later... I moved house. Guess what â new property, another $300 "line fix". Previous tenants confirmed that phone line was active however Dodo argued that they could not use it as it was not in my name.

I realised now that they were subsidising customer plans with set up fees. In any case, I was in for worse. My modem stopped working. For a week I had connectivity for about 10 minutes per day. They promised to send me a new one.

A week later no modem had arrived. They assured me it was in the post. A week later... still no modem. They had sent it to my previous address. How do they still have an address on record that I specifically paid $300 to move from?! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

After a month of limited to no internet connectivity I finally received a replacement modem. I had to scream and cry just to get that month back as a credit. They should have offered compensation given the impact to my business.

Then, this month â as I prepare to upgrade my business connection to a fixed fibre link... I offered them the chance to convert me into a residential customer on a new 1yr contract. You know what they asked me for? Termination + setup fees. So basically, my equation was this:

Stay loyal to Dodo: pay termination + setup fees
Move away from Dodo: pay termination fees & receive account credit as compensation from new provider

Clear decision. Dodo is absolute scum and neither myself, nor anyone I know; work with; or have any business with whatsoever will ever hear anything but negative comments when it comes to Dodo.

TL;DR-- Dodo has been nothing but 2years of misery; would not recommend to anyone. Stay away at all costs.
