Comments:
TPG is an absolute nightmare to deal with. I signed up for one of their home phone/ADSL/mobile bundles after being told service was available in my area. Paid $250 or so upfront. Two weeks later I get an email that there are no cables connected to my residence and that my order will be cancelled. They offered me a refund of $60 plus another $50 if I paid to have the modem returned. The rest was kept under "non-refundable administrative charges". I called Telstra right away and inquired about my line status (I knew there were lines as my bloody house had phone ports!). They advised there were lines and so I signed up with them immediately. I\\\'m a university student via correspondence and can\\\'t be without the net too long! I\\\'m now connected with Telstra and happy. Long story short; paid TPG $140 to not bother finding out the actual line status, waste 2 weeks of my time, and take 3 years off my life expectancy thanks to extreme stress. A couple more notes for those not yet convinced to stay away from TPG: toward the end of my 2-week wait, I called them up and asked if I could have some of my first broadband allowance tacked on to my mobile account so I could get some studies done while I waited. Answer was plain and simply \\\'no\\\'. So, it cost me a further $80 in excess data usage. Also, five minutes after signing up and paying the $250, I received an \\\'account in arrears\\\' notice via email asking for $40 more. Went through the accounts and eventually discovered that they only charged my account the $210 to start with and then took the next $40 out a few minutes later. But still, to be told you owe more money minutes after signup is not a great experience! Just stay away from TPG
