Spintel website advertised ADSL + home phone line at $49.95pm, so I put my address into confirm service address & again it listed $49.95pm. When I received confirmation of order it stated $59.95pm. When I rand to query this price, I was told that the $49,95pm plan was not available at my service address even though the website said it was available when I provided my address. I begrudgingly agreed to proceed with connection. Iwas told that because I had disconnected my phone from Telstra I would have to pay a $59.00 fee to reconnect phone line, to which I agreed, but have just received my 1st invoice which states that a $59.00 fee was charged & paid for, but it also charges a new phone line fee of $299.00. I rang to have this corrected, the girl on the phone was nothing short of a rude bitch. She told that she would put in a disputed fee claim & that it would not charged until resolved. We'll see. At this stage I don't believe anything Spintel tells me. It took 21 days to have phone line switched back on after placing order, a task that the website states to take 1-3 days. This was done be the Telstra guy flicking a switch at the exchange, did not come to our address to check the line as stated the $59.00 fee was for. After taking so long to connect the phone, I rang Spintel to ask where my modem was that I ordered for $69.95 + $15.00 delivery? They told me that a modem had not been shipped yet as I had not paid for it. Strange, since it was on the order confirmation they sent me originally & the cost had been authorised by me in the same order with the phone line. After discussions on the phone, a modem was received by courier within 4 days. Followed the instructions to connect it up, would not connect. Rang Spintel technical assistance, after 45 minutes of doing various checks & tests, I'd had enough. Told the technician to put me through to his Supervisor after not ageing to Spintel's voice terms & conditions to log a service call to have the line checked. (The t&c's basically stated tht Spintel could charge me $150.00 for lodging a service call regardless of fault & absolved Spintel of all responsibility). The Supervisor had no customer service skills whatsoever & I'm sure didn't know what he was talking about. Anyhow, service call was organised & while I'm typing this I just got a text stating that the issue has been resolved. Still haven't seen any type of technician though. I don't believe the issue is fixed, I'll have to wait & see but I won't be holding my breath. My advice to all. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR SPINTEL. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!
