What real customers say about Telstra

Customers frequently praise the reliability of the connection, with several reviewers highlighting its stability even during adverse weather conditions or in rural areas. The customer service experience is often described as positive, with mentions of quick response times and helpful Australian-based support. Some customers also appreciate the incentives and rewards offered, such as prioritised support for Gold Members.

Reviewers commonly point out that the service is expensive compared to competitors, with some feeling the premium price isn't always justified. Occasional outages, particularly during peak hours, were noted by a few. While customer service is generally good, some found conversations lengthy or experienced difficulties with complex issues, sometimes requiring re-explanation to multiple representatives.

Telstra NBN good or bad?

Good customer service and reliable

can be quite costly and if something happens to the nbn it takes a while for a technician to come and fix it

Customer service is good since they are easy to contact
Connection is reliable especially during thunderstorms
Value for money is average since it is quite expensive compared to competitors
Technical support is average due to average call out times if NBN router needs replacement, but at no cost which is a pro.

Reliable company

Stable, relatively good customer service, rewards loyalty

Expensive

I have been with Telstra for my entire adult life. They are relatively reliable and have the best coverage over Australia. Stable data and got a lot better with 5G. They are relatively quick with customer service although the conversations can take upwards of an hour via the MyTelstra App. Incentives and rewards via points is a bonus as well as the Gold Membership provides prioritised customer support which is good

Good reliable connection

Too big, too impersonal, not innovative

When I've has a problem it's painful talking to several people re-explaining the problem, seems simple to read notes before engaging

Expensive but no other choice

It is mostly reliable and fast comparatively when its on and working

expensive, gives nothing to longterm customers and you feel trapped in their monopoly

Telstra seems to be the only option for me and you can't help but feel they know it and therefore don't even try to help you out as a long-term customer.

Good deals

stable connection, back up 4g router

had an issue with speed with gaming but resolved

I have been using Telstra broadband for the past year, and my experience has been mixed. On the positive side, the connection is generally stable, and speeds are consistent with what was advertised. However, there have been occasional outages, usually during peak hours, which can be frustrating when working from home or streaming.

Customer service has been a bit of a hit-or-miss. While some representatives are helpful and resolve issues promptly, I've also encountered long wait times and occasional difficulties in getting complex problems addressed. Another point to mention is that the cost is higher compared to other providers, and I haven't noticed significant advantages that justify the premium price.

Overall, Telstra broadband performs adequately, but there are areas for improvement, particularly in customer service and pricing. I would recommend it if you prioritize a stable connection and are willing to pay a bit more, but there may be better value options available depending on your location.

Only Reliable Company in Small Rural Areas

Telstra provides the ONLY reliable service in my tiny rural town, despite what other companies claim. They are honest about where there may be a loss of service and mark these clearly on a map. Their customer service is excellent. Telstra is easily contacted via the My Telstra ap. Very convenient.

No competition means they do not need to work for our custom, however, so far this has not been an issue and Telstra is usually very good to long standing customers.

Telstra make living in a tiny rural town easier by providing a reliable internet service (and likewise the mobile service). Their customer service is excellent, now that the call centres are back in Australia. Telstra tries hard to solve any technical issues that may arise as quickly and efficiently as possible and will persevere until a satisfactory solution has been found to solve an issue.

Great service

Telstra has a service in the country, which most companies do not have, despite their claims. Telstra also has great customer service now they are back onshore and you speak to a consultant in Australia. The app makes it very quick to contact them and you can locate most information either in the app or in the My Telstra website.

They have a monopoly in small rural towns, so the competition for lower prices is not there, however, their prices are fairly affordable as long as they dont raise them again.

Telstra provides a reliable service in the small rural town where I live. They are honest about any areas in the locality where the signal may not be as strong or may fall out and their map of service is fairly accurate. Other companies often claim to use the Telstra network, but they do not buy the entire network, so people using them are always caught out with no signal for either phone or internet when they visit our area. Telstra alone has a service and for that they deserve high ratings. Their service is generally quick and efficient and they will work hard to resolve any issues you have. Their staff are knowledgeable and understand the distances involved in the country.
