How we pick your plan

We work out the minimum NBN evening speed your household needs from how you use the internet and how many of you there are, then match you to the cheapest plans at that tier from the providers we partner with. It's a starting point, not gospel — if you're a heavy gamer or run a home business, size up a tier.

Frequently asked questions

Which NBN speed tier do most people need?

NBN 50 suits most Australian households — a few people streaming with one person working from home. Singles who mostly browse are fine on NBN 25, while big or heavy-use households are better on NBN 100 or above.

Will a faster plan make my internet feel quicker?

Only up to a point. A higher tier helps most when several devices are downloading or streaming at once. For one or two people, jumping from NBN 50 to NBN 100 won't make web pages or Netflix feel twice as fast.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. NBN plans are almost all no-lock-in, so you can move up or down a tier, or switch provider, usually within a few business days and with little or no downtime.
