| Swoop Broadband is an ASX-listed Australian internet provider that runs its own fixed wireless network of more than 470 towers alongside reselling nbn. The retail brand started life in regional Victoria in the 1990s and now offers nbn 25 through to nbn 1000, plus FTTP and Opticomm where the local infrastructure is in place. Swoop also runs business internet and mobile plans, and was named a 2026 ProductReview award winner in the Internet Service Provider category. | Exetel has been around since the early 1990s and has continued to grow into one of Australia's largest independent broadband companies. It's still a family owned business and has over 240,000 customers in Australia. | |

Please note that summary below is based on reviews submitted to this website and represents the views of the people who wrote the reviews.
Both Swoop and Exetel have fewer than 5 verified reviews on Oz Broadband Reviews, so we don't yet show aggregate ratings. Compare plans and prices in the tables above, or read the individual reviews on each company's page.
Swoop offers 8 NBN plans. Exetel offers 1 NBN plan. See the full plan tables above for prices, speeds and data limits.
Swoop's customer support is based in Australia. Exetel's customer support is based in Australia and Sri Lanka. Call centre location can affect support hours and accent comprehension if onshore support is important to you.
Switching NBN providers in Australia is straightforward. The new provider handles the transfer once you sign up and provide your address. There's usually no contract overlap if your current plan is month-to-month, but check for early termination fees on contracted plans. Phone numbers can usually be ported, and the service typically continues uninterrupted on the same NBN line.
I switched from Optus to Exetel’s One Plan 500/50 and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The entire setup process took less than two hours…
Problem on fibre to premise installation, nbn had to drill blockage or something. Internet speed is slower than previous connection.
