What real customers say about Telstra

Customers consistently praise the reliability of the connection, with many highlighting its stability even in less populated areas or during adverse weather. Reviewers also frequently commend the customer service, noting that it is generally easy to contact and that issues are often resolved in a reasonable timeframe. The availability of Australian-based call centres is also a recurring positive.

However, a common complaint across multiple reviews is the perceived high cost of Telstra's services, with many feeling it is overpriced compared to competitors. Several customers also mention occasional connection dropouts, particularly during peak hours, and some report long wait times or difficulties when needing to speak to a person for more complex issues.

Troublefree service

+ No down time in years. Very reliable and plenty of speed for what I want.

– None so far

The only comment I would make that because I have had nil problems I haven't bothered to look around to see if I can get better value for money.

No change still reliable. If anything, seems faster.

Cost still seems more expensive

Value is still the only concern.

Reliable connection but value to be expected

+ The service has been very reliable with no real technical issues. Initial startup was a bit challenging, but customer service was very helpful in sorting it.

– Other providers often advertise lower rates. Even when discussing with Telstra on the phone, this is apparently the best they could do.

Telstra has been very reliable and easy to work with. Value is the only real negative for me, but I also expect that when purchasing with Telstra.

reliable service and good coverage

hard to speak to a person in customer service

Telstra has improved and their online help and responsiveness is good. If you need to speak to a person it is still not great.
When we had a fault with our system they fixed it in a reasonable time frame.
We will continue using their service.

Easy to connect

Expensive

I would rate Telstra broadband as very average. 99% of the time it is reliable and fast, however there is that 1% of the time when the it will not connect.
I do think $95 is too much for average internet, but that seems to be normal these days.
Overall, it goers the job done, but is over priced.

Followup review of Telstra

The only reliable service in more rural remote places.

Prices keep increasing.

“Telstra is the only company to use if you live in a smaller, less populated area, as they are the only company that honestly has a reliable service, despites others' claims. Plans are competitive and customer service is excellent, with call centres in Australia.”
