NBN and Phone Service fine but JUMPED high in rates. Advertise they use Australian Based customer support but Live Chat is definitely NOT in Australia. Blind Freddy could see. Moved to BETTER LIFE. Melbourne Call Centre and Better Life Mobile is the only telephone company in Australia to be accepted as a member of Good Shepherds Financial Inclusion Program and is a social enterprise certified by Social Traders. Use Telstra too.

While the onboarding experience was probably the best I’ve had for any telco with a surprisingly positive attitude, patience from staff and surprisingly quick turn around to set me up , the whole experience was turned 180 when my speeds dropped to 5/8 mbps rather then the 50/20 I pay for. I experienced months of lag spikes, packet loss and even got to the point of YouTube videos taking 30-90 seconds to buffer in a household of only two people. In order to get any help I had to chase Mate multiple times and had to wait over a month before they actually started providing me any useful information other then the usual comment which was that they are looking into the issue.
I am still with them as they were able to offer me credit for the time I had suffered significantly slower speed. Given you face no issues then they truly are good value.

When I initially signed up they were great, and I was getting around 86 Mbps speeds in peak times. Recently that has been getting worse, until Friday night when I got 4 Mbps. I'm still getting speeds in the 60s during the day but evenings, especially Friday and Sunday are usually 15 or lower, with 2-4 on Friday nights and around 10 on Sunday night.

There customer service is amazing and all aussie and you can understand them. They always helpful. Probs easiest company to talk to.
The downside is The connection can be hit and miss but dont know if its the nbn or them
I think the price is good and id rather pay more for aussie service rather than a call centre where I cant understand them

We signed up to them in June 2021, and since then there have been dropouts and variable speed. Working from home and home schooling was a nightmare, and regular requests to deal with it sounded helpful, but did not resolve the issue. On one occasion we were advised to have the line from the node to our apartment checked, and when we did so, they refused to cover it, leaving us with an extra bill of $170 for listening to them! Initial remediation denied they even asked for it (as if I would have it done if they did not).

Mate has been the best nbn provider so far for good customer service and being one the cheapest internet provider

I've had several interruptions after switching to mate, although this may potentially be due to nbn.
